Meet Our Team
Hello!
My name is Kayla Maschhoff and I am co-owner of Willow Tree Speech Therapy! I'd love to share a little bit about myself and my career as a Speech Language Pathologist.
I currently live in Waterloo with my husband and two children. I enjoy spending time with family and finding restaurants with delicious food.
Growing up I wanted a career focused on helping others. I started my undergraduate degree at SIUE in 2010. I graduated with my Masters of Speech Pathology in 2015. I have been a school SLP for 9 years servicing Early Childhood/Pre-K through Junior High. I truly love working with my students, and collaborating with teachers and parents to help students achieve their speech and language goals.
I currently split my time between a school and private therapy. Majority of my services for Willow Tree take place in home or at daycare. Willow Tree allows me to continue working in both settings I love while also providing a flexible schedule to meet my family's needs while my children are young.
We are excited to offer our services and support to our community. Our goal is to provide convenient but essential services to families!
Hello!!
I’m so excited you are here! My name is Liz Horn and I’m the co-owner of Willow Tree Speech Therapy with my best friends, Kayla Maschhoff and Angela Rohn.
I currently live in Millstadt with my husband, Trevor, and our two sons, Liam and Sammy. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my family and friends outside of work.
My love of child language development began early on. I knew I wanted to work with children in some capacity, but found my love of speech during college. I was also fortunate enough to meet a strong, supportive group of friends who quickly became my rock during school. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), and continued to obtain my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2015. From there, I began working exclusively with kids on the autism spectrum, then moving to the prek-6th population working with children on a variety of levels with various etiologies. My focus has been remediating articulation and language disorders in children.
In 2020, Angie and I made a giant leap to continue our education. We are trained orofacial myofunctional therapists while emphasizing functional assessments. I completed my training in tethered oral tissue care and management in August 2021 through Chrysalis Orofacial.
As my career progressed, I was fortunate enough to travel back to my alma mater and became a supervisor in the on-campus speech-language hearing clinic. It has been the opportunity of a lifetime to grow my skills as both a practicing SLP and supervising SLP.
As I reflect back on my career thus far, I can’t help but wonder what it was that drew me to become a speech therapist. In 2019, I received my divine answer, as my youngest son was diagnosed with a severe expressive language delay. Now, not only have my experiences been on the therapist side of my work, but I can relate to life with a sweet baby and celebrating each and every small milestone-for some these are truly life changing!!!
I’m looking forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you! All of the clients we have the privilege to work with, truly become “our family.”
Welcome to Willow Tree!
